Bean in a Bag
You need
- A zip-top bag
- A damp paper towel
- 2–3 dry beans (lima beans work well)
- Tape and a sunny window
Let's play
- Fold the damp paper towel and slide it into the bag.
- Tuck the beans between the towel and the bag so you can see them.
- Tape the bag to a sunny window.
- Check every day. Watch the root go down and the sprout come up!
Grown-up tip: Use the Bean Plant Diary printable. Dry beans are a choking hazard, so a grown-up handles them with little ones.
