Today is the Shape Parade! The Pals march down the street. Rum-tum-tum!

Pip points up. "A CIRCLE!" It is the round, bright sun.

Lulu points at a house. "SQUARES!" The windows are square, with four sides the same.

Fizz points at the sky. "A DIAMOND!" It is a kite, dancing in the wind.

Benny finds a slice of pizza at the parade snack table. "A TRIANGLE!" He takes a bite. Now it is a smaller triangle.

Ollie looks at the school bus. "A RECTANGLE! Two long sides and two short sides."

At the end of the parade, the Pals look up. The first star is twinkling. "A STAR!" they shout together.

Shapes, shapes, everywhere. What shapes can YOU find?

Let's talk about it

  • What shape was the sun?
  • What was the triangle?
  • Look around the room. Can you find a circle and a square?
