You need

  • Food boxes and cans from the pantry
  • Big paper coins (cut from card)
  • A bag

Let's play

  1. Set up a shop on a table with "price" stickers: 1, 2 or 3 coins.
  2. One person is the shopkeeper, one is the shopper.
  3. Count out coins to pay. Say please and thank you!
  4. Swap jobs.
Grown-up tip: Ask: is this a need or a want? With under-3s, skip real coins and buttons: they are a choking hazard.
